The Indiana University School of Social Work, with the support of the Indiana Department of Child Services, offers financial support to current DCS employees selected to participate in the Child Welfare Scholars Program.

Employees who have been accepted into the MSW program at one of the IU campuses are eligible to apply for this program. There is a separate application and review process for the Child Welfare Scholars program.

Selected Child Welfare Scholars do course and field work that supports the development of advanced skills in child welfare practice and leadership. Participating students choose from either the Child Welfare or Leadership concentration in their advanced year. Students receive assistance with tuition, fees, and books. These students then graduate with a work commitment to the agency.
