About

Jewel Mosley is an accomplished professional, currently serving as BSW Student Services Coordinator and Associate Faculty at Indiana University School of Social Work. With a Master of Social Work degree from IUSSW, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. Jewel's career has been dedicated to addressing the needs of underserved students and promoting collegiate access and success. She is passionate about cultivating student learning, growth, and development, and has been instrumental in implementing data-driven strategies to foster student persistence and achievement.

In addition, Jewel also plays a significant role on behalf of the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust, specifically as a member of the Nina Scholars Advisory Council since 2013. She is an integral part of the four-person selection committee responsible for evaluating, interviewing, and selecting new Nina Scholars each year. This esteemed program offers comprehensive support and nearly a full-ride scholarship for up to six years to independent youth, students with disabilities, and students with dependents. Jewel's unwavering commitment to this initiative has made her an indispensable member of the team year after year.

Jewel's diverse experience ranges from recruitment and admissions to residence life and new student orientation to academic advising, career services, alumni relations and workforce development, demonstrating her commitment to supporting students throughout their educational journey.

As a researcher, Jewel has clinical experience in providing comprehensive health and wellness services in the treatment of persons with trauma histories, mood, anxiety, psychotic, and substance use disorders. Her research examines health equity, health disparities, Social Determinants of Health (SDoH), trauma-informed care restorative practices, training methodologies and its impact on African Americans and child and youth care workers. She conducts translational research using systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and clinical trials.

Jewel's amazing contributions are making a big impact in the local, national, and global communities. Her unwavering dedication as a diversity champion and her extensive contributions to student success make her an invaluable asset to Indiana University.
