Academic Advising

Academic Advising #

Whether looking for information about Social Work as a profession or registering for classes, students can turn to their Student Services Coordinators for help. Student Services Coordinators refer students to appropriate on- and off-campus resources, assist in academic planning, and provide career development support. Sometimes they are the first step in determining your fit or stop out options for your program as well.

Advising Office #

Our Student Services Coordinators are a terrific resource for you. They are your first stop in Social Work for all academic and career advising in the BSW program that starts at the Student Services Office. The office is staffed by BSW Student Services Coordinators who have been through extensive training and can find the best resources for each student who requests services. Whether it is:

  • Learning about the admission requirements to apply to the BSW program,
  • Helping to review a course plan
  • Scheduling an appointment to evaluate undergraduate credits,
  • Creating your educational plan
  • Learning about certificate and special program opportunities
  • Understanding transfer credits and much more

Call 317-274-6747 or 317-274-5447 anytime OR stop by the office in ES4143A or ES4143 during walk-in hours OR use the academic appointment form

Schedule an Appointment #

Sit down with a Student Services Coordinator to discuss your long-term plans, decide on classes for an upcoming semester, or resolve any academic challenges.

We realize that schedules and distance can make coming in to see a Student Services Coordinator a challenge, so our office offers online, or virtual, advising. Through online advising, you schedule an appointment and meet with your Student Services Coordinator in a virtual meeting space (internet connection and a web cam are needed).

Each student has a Student Services Coordinator. Student Services Coordinators will help you with registration, serve as your advocate, troubleshoot, refer you to other campus offices and answer questions.

If you are a current student at IUPUI, use the link below to schedule either an in-person or online appointment with a Student Services Coordinator. Otherwise, please call the student services line at (317) 278-0739 .
