This is a supervised advanced level social work practicum
Programs are individually arranged. Locations vary; past participants have had placements in:
- London, England:
- 4-5 month internships for social work students only
- Christchurch, New Zealand:
- 4-5 month internships for social work students at the Centre for Prevention of Family Violence
- Bloemfontein and Philippolis, South Africa:
- 4-5 month internships for social work students only in collaboration with University of the Free State, Rural Development Project
- Perth, Australia:
- 4-5 month internships for social work students at Curtin University Centre for Human Rights Education
- Dublin, Ireland:
- 4-5 month internships for social work students in social agencies arranged through Trinity College
- Buenos Aires, Argentina:
- 4-5 month internships for social work students only
- Cardiff, Wales:
- 4-5 month internships for social work students only
Program Eligibility #
All applicants must meet IU Indianapolis’s minimum standard eligibility requirements. Additional requirements for this program include:
- Applicants should be an IU Indianapolis Social Work graduate student in good standing with the university
Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose, and appropriateness of match between program and applicant.
