A nationally ranked MSW program. Faculty committed to student success. Meaningful experiential learning.
For these reasons and more, the MSW program at South Bend prepares you for the next step in your professional journey. Our clinical and community practice curriculum arms you with the broad knowledge to work across social work’s continuum and be licensed for both micro- and macro-level practice.
Our Programs #
IU’s multifaceted MSW curriculum is designed to help students master professional practice through foundational knowledge, clinical and community practice, research and evaluation, and specialized focus in mental health and addictions.

Experiential learning sharpens skills, fuels interests #
Faculty and a full-time advisor work one-on-one with you to design practicum experiences that match your personal interests and career goals. Offering a wide range of practicum opportunities, our program has partnerships with community-based organizations in the region.
Two thirds of our alumni work in the region. Not only does this create nice opportunities for networking and mentorships, but it also speaks to our program’s reach in impacting our local community.
